Mark Skidmore
Mr. Skidmore has a fifteen-year track record of developing successful entrepreneurial sales and marketing organizations for early stage start-ups and small public software companies.
In early 2002, Mr. Skidmore joined Red Cedar Technology, an early-stage software start-up providing product and process development expertise to large manufacturing organizations, as VP of Sales and Marketing responsible for worldwide sales and business development. Mr. Skidmore successfully initiated sales and marketing efforts ranging from product inception to establishing an impressive reference list of "Fortune 500" customers. In addition, Mr. Skidmore played a key role in securing the company's seed funding.
Previously, Mr. Skidmore directed Worldwide Sales for WebScope Inc, where he created global sales channels for the company's enterprise-level, real-time collaboration software. He was instrumental in establishing the company's products in numerous vertical markets including bio-medical, consumer electronics, aerospace, automotive, defense, and contract manufacturing industries. During his tenure with WebScope, Mr. Skidmore built a direct sales team for the U.S. and established an indirect sales channel in both Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Before joining WebScope, Mr. Skidmore was Director of Worldwide Sales, MSC Software (NYSE:MNS), Working Knowledge Division where he and his team set numerous sales records while transitioning from an inside sales team to selling the company's software products through industry recognized channel partners and the MSC direct sales channel. While at Working Knowledge, Mr. Skidmore led the company's successful sales transition, increasing software sales 70% and establishing record quarterly software revenue.
Previous to MSC Software, Mr. Skidmore served as CEO, North American Operations for TNO-MADYMO, founding the North American operations for TNO, one of the largest research and technology organizations in Europe. During his five years at TNO, Mr. Skidmore's team built TNO's software and services into the dominant player in the North American field of automotive and aerospace crashworthiness, taking sales from $600K to over $4M.
In the seven years before TNO, Mr. Skidmore held a number of key sales and sales management positions at MARC Analysis Research Corporation, including National Sales Manager. MARC was subsequently acquired by MSC Software.
Throughout his career, Mr. Skidmore has demonstrated the understanding and drive required to build and implement successful sales organizations. Additionally, his extensive start-up and small company experience has been influential in the strategic corporate planning and continued Venture Capital activities required of entrepreneurial companies.
Mr. Skidmore began his career as a structural engineer with Lockheed Missiles and Space. He holds an MS and BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, He also studied at University of Freiburg, Germany.
