Ray Serafin

Ray Serafin

Ray Serafin is an experienced executive communications professional who writes speeches and crafts other internal and external written communications for clients, including executives at Chrysler Group LLC. He brings more than three decades of professional experience in communications, transportation public relations and journalism, which has helped him earn the confidence of some of industry’s top leaders.

Ray previously headed up Strat@comm Detroit’s Editorial Services department, where he also penned speeches, op-eds and press materials for clients such as Takata, the Aluminum Association, Automotive Retailing Today, the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, SUVOA and the Diesel Technology Forum.

Prior to joining Strat@comm, Ray spent more than eight years with Manning Selvage and Lee in Detroit, where he built and managed the firm’s Editorial Services department. The department wrote executive presentations, press kits and other materials for clients including General Motors, Delphi Automotive Systems, Dow Automotive, ArvinMeritor, University of Michigan Business School and other clients. Under Ray’s leadership, the department won several industry awards, including recognition by the Holmes Report for speechwriting and for the creation of General Motors’ annual Product Information Guide for the media.

Before joining MS&L, Ray served as Detroit Bureau Chief for Advertising Age, Crain Communications’ weekly business publication that covers national and international marketing news and trends. In this capacity, Ray was the lead reporter for covering the automotive industry. His work was recognized with several regional and national journalism awards from the Detroit Press Club Foundation and the American Society of Business Press Editors. Before joining Advertising Age, Ray worked as a reporter, editor and daily columnist for The Daily Tribune in Royal Oak, Mich.

Ray earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame. He resides in metro Detroit with his wife, Ann, who is a leading advocate for disability rights.
